We are a group of artists from the Mat-Su Valley and vicinity that enjoy painting together and having fellowship.
Membership dues are $25 a year and run from January 1 to December 31. In addition to supporting the visual arts in our community, members have access to:

PALMER SENIOR CENTER
The Valley Fine Arts Association hosts watercolor painting classes at the Palmer Senior Center on the second Friday of each month from 12-3pm. (Go into the building and turn right at the elevator, the classroom is down the hall.) All materials are supplied. All are welcome to stop by and paint with us !
MEETINGS AT MAT-SU COLLEGE
Valley Fine Arts Association painters have met and painted together at Mat-Su College since 2005. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 11-3pm at Mat-Su Colege, FSM building room 212 (January thru April and September thru November). Bring your own projects and come say “Hi”.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Plein Air Painting with VFAA members(the time and dates will be announced and are depending on the weather)
We enjoy a wonderful garden potluck picnic at the end of June, and various summer shows VFAA Artists can be involved in.
Retreats
VFAA hosts two retreats every year - one in the spring and one in the fall.
Our Fall Retreat, will be held on August 14th-16th 2026 at North Star Bible Camp in Willow. Our tearchers will be Don Kolstad of Anchorage teaching oils/acrylics and Plein Air. Nancy Angelini Crawford teaching pastels and watercolors. And Michelle Mishaan teaching color theory. There's lots of camaraderie, and plenty of good food and comfortable lodging. Spring Retreat
Will be held on March 13th to 15th. In Big Lake, at Camp Maranatha. This retreat features artists helping artists, massages therapist and Movie nights. Hope to see you there.
