About Membership
Membership dues are only $25 a year and run from January 1 to December 31. In addition to supporting the visual arts in our community, members have access to:
Retreats
Artist gatherings and demonstrations
Life drawing sessions with models
Community service projects and more.

Upcoming Events
VFAA Painting at the Mat-Su College
VFAA artists will get together the 2nd Saturday and the 4th Saturday through April to paint at Mat-Su College. Our next Artists Gathering will be March 8th from 11 till 3 in room 212. There will be live model to draw. Grab your art materials and stop by the College for a day of creating with friends!
March Paint Together at the Palmer Senior Center
VFAA artists and area Seniors get together the second Friday of each month at the Palmer Senior Center to paint together. Our next Paint Together will be March 14th from noon till three. Come paint with us- it’s always a fun time.
Spring Retreat in Big Lake March 20-23
Our Spring Retreat will be held at Camp Maranatha in Big Lake from March 20-23. It’s great fun and a wonderful way to connect with other Valley artists. There are no instructors. Just bring your paints and whatever projects you’d like to work on and enjoy a weekend of painting. See the section below for Registration information.
Retreats
VFAA hosts two retreats every year - one in the spring and one in the fall.
Registration is open for the VFAA Spring Art Retreat!
When: Thursday, March 20th (evening) to Sunday, March 23rd (afternoon).
Where: Camp Maranatha in Big Lake

Everyone is able to attend the VFAA Spring Art Retreat. Newcomers are very welcome. You do not need to be a VFAA member to attend the retreat (although we would love it if you became one!).
Traditionally the Spring Retreat is for whatever art projects you feel like working on. Although we haven’t had instructors in the past this year we will offer a few free mini classes if you would like to take them.
Accommodations: The rooms are hotel style, 2 per room. For a little more ($25 for the weekend) you can have a private room.
Cost:
$55. Per day w/lodging
$12. Day rate/no lodging
$14.00 per meal, 3 dinners/3 Breakfasts (includes Thursday night)
If anyone would be willing to help serve on the Spring Retreat Committee, please let Sue Mayer know. It’s going to be an easy gig.
